School bus crash in Watertown, 5 students taken to hospital

WATERTOWN – One Watertown student with the same last name as a driver was taken to a hospital Tuesday afternoon on a school bus.

The crash in the early evening resulted in five students being taken to hospital as a result of the crash.

According to a release from the Watertown Police Department, Watertown Police and the Watertown Fire Department responded to the crash at 7:30 p.m.

The driver of the school bus, a 28-year-old Watertown man, failed to stop at a stop sign at the corner of Broadway and Elm Street.

He was taken to the hospital with minor injuries and taken to Watertown Memorial Hospital for treatment.

Police, Fire Department and Watertown Memorial Hospital officials are investigating the crash.
